Hotel suggestions near Cape Liberty?

First time cruiser here, looking for advice. We're leaving out of Cape Liberty NJ -- driving up there the night before departure -- and would like to find a decent hotel reasonably close to the port (do not know the area at all). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you do NOT stay at the Ramada near the Newark Airport. I am an airline pilot and our company puts us up there. It is SO bad, that the front desk instructs us not to go outside after dark, and not to leave the property during the day.

 

I cruised from Port Liberty, but flew in the day of, so I can't offer too much assitance. You will need a ride to the pier, either your own car, shuttle, or cab, as it is quite a ways away from anything.
