Earliest time to drop off luggage at POM?

We have to drop my husband off for his graduation ceremony at 9am on embarkation day. I would love to drop off all of our luggage at the port before the ceremony actually starts at 10am. How early have you dropped off luggage at POM? We will be on the Carnival Liberty if that makes a difference.
