Hypothetical early saver

Carnival's people haven't been too helpful, they seem like they have never heard of early saver

 

I booked a scenic ocean view (6k) on early saver. Obviously price drops are not common b/c the low number of rooms. (although I already got one for $40)

 

Hypothetically, if a balcony room of some kind drops below what I paid for the OV...

 

1. can I get the price drop

2. can I take it as onboard credit but still keep my "lower" 6k room

 

I know, balconies are the bestest and why wouldn't I want one and so on but I want the ocean view

Technically you have to take the upgrade to get the OBC - however, some have reported success in keeping their cabin and getting the OBC. ken
