I usually cruise but I won a vacation at the Atlantis Hotel and Resort, is the island safe? Can I take a taxi from Atlantis to the city? What places are good to eat, can I take alcohol into the Atlantis resort?

Thanks in advance

Congratulation on your win. As for safety, yes, Paradise Island is generally safe.. but you still have to be vigilant as you would be in any other city. With 10,000 strangers visiting every day, you just have to stay aware.

Nassau is easily accessible by water taxi or cab.. ($4pp daytime Cabs only after 6 - $11 for 2 ppl.) The city shuts down around 6pm and all that's left open are the restaurants/bars. I don't recommend you wander around the city at this point, but take a cab to and from the restaurant of your choice. Again.. it's a city filled with people.. so stay aware of your surroundings, just like any other city you would visit.

Stay in the tourist areas and you'll be fine.

Best places to eat are off campus...

In Nassau:

Luciano's of Chicago

Poop Deck

Green Parrot Harbourside

Cafe matisse

Montague Gardens - shuttle provided

Athena's Greek Cafe

Via Caffe - Lunch

Olive's - Breakfast and Lunch

Van Bruegals

Brussels Bistro

Cricket Club British Pub

The Fish Fry (Local eateries).

On Paradise Island:

Blue Lagoon at Club Land'or (weekends only)

Anthony's Grill

Dunkin Donuts (breakfast)

Green Parrot Hurricane Hole

At Atantis:

Mesa Grill

Nobu

Dune (at Ocean Club)

Yes, you can take liguor into Atlantis.. but no bottles outside near the pools, slides or beach. Best to bring along a thermos or cooler of some sort.
