Weather cruising to Bermuda from NJ in April

I am trying to search for info regarding what to expect on a 4/27 cruise to the Bahamas from NJ......Is it safe to assume that even if the air temp is warm, since the water is cold, it will be chilly outside on the ship? Is Bermuda typically beach weather during end April/May? With such a short cruise )5 days) I worry most of the time will be spent chilly and inside!

You will not have to worry about sweating a lot. Bermuda is running about 70 degrees daytime, right now. The humidity should not be a problem either. The ocean is still cold so your sea days will be cool also. Layers, that is the answer to your question. Dress in Layers. As far as swimming in Bermuda, probably not. Since Bermuda is not in the Caribbean, it stays cooler there later into the spring. It is about opposite NC and SC.
