Dining options on Opera...Fjords

i have read a lot of info on the dining options on the Opera (cruising the Fjords) and it all seems to be a bit confusing. This question is mainly for the buffet section as we are travelling with young children, is the buffet open anytime during 5pm - 7pm, what choices of food are there. Also are there any drinks stations where you can get a soft drink / water for free.

You can go to the buffet any time during the published opening hours. There are drinks stations serving tea, coffee and hot wTer but not soft drinks. Those cost etra and will need to be bought from a bar.
