cruisinlawn Posted June 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2013 I'm curious, we are entertaining the idea of booking the 11 day itinerary for July or August '014. Looking at a standard balcony which is currently priced around $3400-3500pp. I'm aware no one knows the market but curious if you think these prices are the norm or could we anticipate a drop prior to final pymt (which would be April/May)? I'm also aware that Royal is a new ship as well as fares are slightly less in May/June. This region is new to us and we have no idea regarding pricing. TIA for any input. Enjoy:)
Pam in CA Posted June 2, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2013 Brand new ships generally command higher prices. It's all based on supply and demand, and demand to sail on new ships is high. I wouldn't expect prices to come down on the Royal but you never know. Airfares could still be prohibitive which is why so many European cruises are now on sale. It's a gamble. I'd book now and get as big a discount as I can find and then if there are sales or price reductions, consider that a bonus. I'm booked on the Royal T/A in September 2014 in an inside because I couldn't justify the difference between an inside and a balcony, and I don't expect my fare to be reduced further than my 15% discounted rate.
