Saving Up To Be Eccentric Posted June 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2013 Has anyone done or heard of the 7 hour all day bus tours from Whittier to Anchorage? If you have (or know of someone who has) done one of them, is it worthwhile, or should I save money by not going on the tram in Girdwood and the Anchorage tours and just take a narrated bus ride? PennyAgain Posted June 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2013 As I have seen the view from the top of the Alyeska tram when on skis, I can say that on a clear day the view is spectacular as you see down to the water and across Turnagain Arm. There is no way to predict if you will have a clear day for the view. If you are shakey about heights or flat don't like being on a tram, then skip it. The village of Girdwood is a typical small ski town. Only you can decide if it is worth your $ and your time.
