pundang Posted June 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2013 Our cruise ends in Vancouver and our flight is at 7:20pm. We will store our luggage at Via Rail for the day. I'd like to check in and print boarding passes for our flight as soon as possible. How have you managed this off the ship? Do you wait until you arrive at the airport? Is there a hotel or library close to Canada Place? Thank you for any information

However; at the Pan Pacific (which is the in same facility of Canada Place), there is a YVR checkin kiosk; and a number of other ones in the downtown area. http://www.yvr.ca/en/flight-information/checkin/atotherlocations.aspx
Putterdude Posted June 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2013 Most ships, if not all have WiFi and if you don't have a laptop with you then you can use the ship's Internet Café (for a fee) and obtain your boarding passes as soon as they are available. You can check your luggage at Priority Luggage at Canada Place and they will hold it until 4 pm, alternatively you could take it to one of the nearby hotels and give the bell desk a nice tip to hold it for you. You will want to be at the airport a full two hours before your flight time and YVR is 35 to 40 minutes from Canada Place by either taxi or the Canada Line. So for your flight you should be heading to the airport by about 4:20 pm. I am sure that you could sit in the lobby of either the Pan Pacific or the Fairmont Waterfront hotels if you wish. However you may care to take a stroll into historic Gastown which is an easy walk from Canada Place or perhaps a walk along the seawalk to Stanley Park. As an alternative, this company offers some excellent post cruise tours of the city and arrangements can be made with them to drop you and your luggage off at the YVR. http://www.vancouvertours.com/

I think Putterdude is referring to the same place we used--it's on the level in Canada Place where you pick up your luggage, on the left side, near the doors where you exit to catch a cab, bus or walk. It's very convenient to the train, if you're getting to the airport that way, or to a cab (if you don't see one, just step outside the doors and ask if someone would call a cab for you).
