Embarkation Time in San Juan????

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We are staying at the Caribe Hilton prior to the cruise...(hoping that this place was a good choice)??? What time should we be at the pier for??? We don't want to be standing around in the heat with suitcases for a long period of time. I had read somewhere before that it is best to be at the port by 10:00-10:30.. Can anyone help confirm this??? Thank you soooo much!!!!

In March, my wife and I arrived at 10:00 am. We checked our bags with the Porter, stood in line under a covered area (about 10 people in front of us), they opened the doors to the check-in at about 10:30 am and then we sat in the lined up chairs (in the Air Conditioning) for about 1 hour before they allowed us to get on board. My wife was actually the first passenger to step foot on board. Happy cruising.

From my experiences (3 sailings out of San Juan) the boarding process is a little slower than other ports. I wouldn't show up to the port until closer to noon. We've stayed at the Caribe Hilton a couple times and they have a great pool area. Personally, I'd hang out at their pool till checkout time (noon) and then head to the port.

As mentioned, I was wondering if the embarkation time depends on the ship's departure time.

We are taking the Serenade of the seas from San Juan March 10th, and the ship is set to leave at 8pm. We have young kids and don't want to wait.

Thanks!
