Easiest way to and from the Magic Fountain?

We are going on a cruise next May and have two nights in Barcelona prior to. We are havingBar celona Day Tours pick us up at the airport and taking the 4 hour highlight tour. The next day we are going back to cool places like Sagrada Familia and want to go to the Magic Fountain. We are staying at Hotel Continental Ramblas. What is the route that would get us to both places easily?

We stayed in the same hotel before this past June. We took the Barcelona Bus Turistic during the day before our cruise, and got off at Sagrada Familia. Book your tickets in advance, and it will save a ton of time. We got on one of the first buses, and the line to get into the church was long already. The purple metro line (L2) will get you to Sagrada Familia. You will have to walk to the Universitat station for that line from the hotel. Or take the red line from Placa Catalunya to Universitat to make the transfer

 

We walked to the Magic Fountain, and quickly realized that it was a lot longer walk than it looked like on the map. We ended up talking the Red metro line back from Placa Espanya (short walk from the Magic Fountain) to Placa Catalunya. That was much faster and easier than walking.
