visit medina on your own

we are going to visit tunish during our one day stop with the msc precioza.

And we are thinking of visiting medina on our own after returning from 4 hours excersion to carthage and sidi bou said.

 

if we left close to city center from returning is it easy to visit medina and get back to port with a taxi or with a metro?

We took a taxi to Medina and the catacombs and paid a flat fee so he waited for us at both locations. There were lots of taxis outside the city gates, but I'm not sure how many of them were there waiting for other people like us.
