Customs in Texas

Recommended Posts

I read a post somewhere on this board that the rules in Texas are different than elsewhere. I think the poster said that you could only bring in one bottle of liquor duty free and there were some other oddities. Does anyone know if this is true. On the Carnival website they didn't mention different rules for different ports, or if they did I didn't see it.

Unfortunately, the rules are different in Texas. :( One bottle duty free if you're a Texas resident. According to TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) rules, Texas can charge you the state liquor tax on that one bottle too. :D I've never seen that happen.

If you're NOT a Texas resident, the limits are higher.
