crissywissy Posted September 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2013 Got back from this cruise on Friday 20th. Usually cruise with P and O but fancied flying to the sun so tried Thomson. Can honestly say we were not disappointed, fantastic ship, crew, entertainment, food. Only moan was the open dining, we like the dining experience with p and o for the evening meal, so went self service instead after the first night of trying the open dining. The self service cafe royal was really nice and to be honest nicer than the self service cafeteria style of p and o' s ships. The ship and cabin was spotless. The entertainment on-board far outreached our expectations and was better than p and o. Would recommend thomson cruises 100%!
CRUISIN LINDA Posted September 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2013 Hi Chrissywissy, welcome to the forum :) Glad your first experience with Thomson was a good one. We went on the Majesty in February and really loved the ship. We actually like open dining. We chose it on Princess recently and met lots of different people. On the Majesty we ate in the buffet every night except formal night as we found there were big queues at both dining rooms at 8pm and we thought the food was excellent and the buffet is not too big, so quite intimate. We have yet to try P&O. My brother loves them but admits the entertainment "could be better" We thought the entertainment was very good on the Majesty especially as they do not a theatre, as on the Dream. Some people seem to have the idea that Thomson is an inferior product  so thanks for recommending them :)
