We are looking to try the pride out of Baltimore in Jan. We are used rcl and their bands. What is available on the pride? How does it compare yo royal? Thanks.

We have only cruised on Carnival and Royal. My husband and I enjoy dancing (cha cha, east coast swing, shag). We just got off the Pride September 1st and THE CELEBRATION BAND played in the Starry Nights lounge - they were fantastic!!!! I'm not sure if they will still be on the Pride in January but they were fantastic. I don't know for sure, but I believe Carnival will have live bands (unfortunately not Calypso) for a little while longer. I think the younger "club" has a DJ.......there is also Karaoke - the orchestra plays with them at times.

We were on Royal in April 2013 - they had more live TRIO'S, Calypso, etc., but the kind of music we danced to was played by a DJ........the DJ happened to be fantastic and we loved it too!

Not sure what sort of music you are interested in - hope this helped.
