lallarebecca Posted November 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2013 Hi! We´re sailing with Pacific Princess next fall in November, 10 nights roundtrip from Tahiti. I´ve been checking the excursions for our ports of call on the Princess website, but it seems that the excursions they do offer are very few, and most of them are no longer than 2-3 hours max. Does anyone have experience from this? Will more excursions be available later or is it best to book on your own with local companies?
Tikiintahiti Posted November 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2013 You will typically get more for your money by booking on your own ;)
lallarebecca Posted November 16, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted November 16, 2013 I agree with you Tikiintahiti, but I´m still asking because my mother still prefers the bookings via the ship. :)
Bucky3 Posted November 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2013 We have taken a few Princess tours in the SP, but most were planned by people on our roll call. Check your roll call sailing to see what has/is being planned. Following are Princess tours we have taken over several trips: In Papeete we have taken the 4x4 Princess tour and another that visited a private home, a waterfall and a museum and had lots of scenery along the way. We enjoyed it. In Pago Pago we took a Princess tour to a small village where we watched locals perform dances on the lawn and refreshments. It was also a scenic island tour we enjoyed. In Bora Bora we took the glass bottom boat tour once. I cannot recommend this one. A private motu picnic tour is great to do here. We have taken Patrick's motu picnic tour there (planned by a roll call member), twice, and it was wonderful both times. In Moorea we took the Princess motu picnic tour once. We enjoyed that one too. Last time (spring 2013) we did the ship's 4x4 tour. It was a fun adventure! Good luck with your planning and have a great cruise!
