Hotel for night before cruise

What is a good hotel for a one night stay before our cruise. We will be on the carnival valor.

The Caribe Hilton is a great place. There are quite a few nice hotels in the area though. I know the last 3 times we have gone we have lucked out and won The Caribe Hilton on the website captain kirk advertises for..... And for lots less than the regular price.:D

There are many excellent choices. Do you want to be on a beach, or in Old San Juan. Do you prefer a conventional "chain-type" hotel, or are you seeking a boutique hotel with some local flavor? What price range? Since you only have one night, I recommend a hotel right in OSJ so you can soak up some of the local flavor. The Carnival pier is even walkable from some places.

I decided to do the priceline deal and got the raddison hotel and casino. I guess I am ok with it. It's just for one night.
