Bayahibe Beach

We are planning on going to Bayahibe beach for the day. Would like some feedback on the beach? Would like to know about how nice it is, chairs to rent (cost), and is there some shade?

Also cost of a taxi and are their plenty of taxi's at beach to take you back to the ship?

Beautiful beach. There is shade, chairs for rent (don't remember the price as I didn't rent any) and a row of small shops/restaurants set up at the back if the beach if you are hungry and want to buy anything. There are even tables/chairs set up in the shade for you to eat it. As far as taxis go, you can ask the guy who takes you there from the ship to be back at a certain time. I also saw other taxis sitting there at the beach. There is also a restroom and small shower room. I'd post pics I took, but I'm at work and they block picture sites like Photobucket. I recommend using Google image search to see how pretty the beach is. If it's a nice day you won't be disappointed. The water is crystal clear and the sand is white. No waves at all and it's shallow. I don't swim and I walked out like 60 feet and it was only up to my stomach. I could also still see my feet thru the clear water. Nice wavy sand bottom. Have fun!

Well I was in a shared taxi. I got off the ship, walked to the taxi area, and another passenger was shouting "Anyone want to share a taxi for the beach?" so I shared it with him and his wife and another couple. Round trip plus a city tour of La Romana was $25 US for me. I forget how much it was if you just wanted the beach.
