Road Construction Status?

Hi everyone - DH and I have been to St. Martin a number of times over the last several years, and each time we go, there is horrible traffic on the road from the airport to Philipsburg because of the road construction.

 

Does anyone know the latest status? We're trying to time how long it will be from Philipsburg to Maho Beach.

The traffic was ridiculous when we were there. Took an hour and a half to go from airport to over the bridge. Construction on the new bridge really has things messed up. When the new bridge opens it will be much better. We were there the week before Christmas.
