I'm leaving in 3 days- beach or shop?!

Hi all-

 

What is the best beach for 2 beginner snorkelers with our own gear? We'd love to be somewhere with public bathrooms. We also don't want to snorkel the whole time.

 

Should we shop instead?! How is the shopping?

While it's not a beach, we like Paradise Grill or Sunset House for snorkeling. Both within walking distance from the docks (to the right as you face the island). They both have great snorkeling, easy access, food, drinks, rentals, restrooms and rinse showers. We like them both. Sunset House is a little farther walk, but a little nicer.

 

From there when you are done snorkeling, you can shop around town, grab some food, drink, and be right back near the tender piers. It's an easy day, but I would check one of these two places out.

Yes it is! We have our own gear. We chose to take advantage of a table they offered on the porch if we ordered a drink and a snack (which we would have anyway). They let us keep all our beach bags and equipment there and kept an eye on it for us while we snorkeled. It was really nice. They feed tarpon right there as well, so that was AMAZING to swim in the school of those huge fish!!! If you do go, be sure to swim straight out to the reef. There's plenty of stuff to see close in (rather nice) but the reef out a hundred yards is AMAZING!!!!
