traveling6pack Posted January 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2014 We are sailing on the Silhouette this Sunday and have been unable to book any shore excursions on line. How difficult is it to book on board and is the availability limited at that point?
Ellen S Posted January 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Should be very easy. When you board go to the shore excursion desk. It's across from the guest relations desk. They have brochures you can check out. Deck 3. I was on the ship February 2012 and loved it. A couple things about the Silhouette: Deck 7 is the Hideaway. A nice place to read and get a cup of coffee or tea. Also, if your cabin is not ready when you get on the ship go to Bistro on 5. They charge $5 a person for lunch. Well worth it. Much better than the buffet (which is very crowded on the first day). Looks like it is just off the elevators mid ship. Enjoy your cruise.
tink1112 Posted January 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2014 We will be on the Silly with you on Sunday! Can't wait!! You should join our roll call. Booking excursions onboard is usually pretty painless, some may sell out but there is always a good selection left. As Ellen S said just stop by the excursions desk, I find that they are always very helpful. I will probably be on line with you since we haven't booked everything yet either. :p Decisions, decisions......
turning46 Posted January 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Oooh! Please tell us (me) which excursions you choose. I'm sailing that itinerary in April and cannot decide! Thanks in advance and have an amazing cruise!!!
Snowescapee Posted January 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Sailing on Sunday too! I had some issues booking our excursions online but got them booked (log in, log out....) except Falmouth. We did the Eastern itinerary in Silhouette last year and loved it! Counting down the days! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Lsimon Posted January 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Once on board you can book excursions: In person at the excursion desk during hours it is open Online through your stateroom TV's interactive feature By filling out a form and depositing it in a box at the excursion desk for later processing. The availability of most, but not all, excursions is limited. Some excursions are limited to 20 or 30 people and some are open to virtually unlimited numbers. It depends on the capacity of the excursion operator and the size and number of vehicles used - if any. Celebrity always holds back some slots from the advance online booking for sale on board. But whether these will quickly sell out or be open until the last minute depend a lot on the particular excursion and the demand for it. If there is availability the excursions will be on sale until a cut off time. For most port days the sales cut off time is sometime in the afternoon or evening two days before the port day. Check with the excursion desk, or on-board excursion order form, for details of the cut off times. Edited January 6, 2014 by Lsimon

Reflection to Greece , Turkey, etc. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk If you're looking to share excursions on your cruise then Cruise Critic has a special place to try and contact others on your particular cruise to do this among other things. It is called a Roll Call and here is a post describing how this works: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=547106
