Tour company necessary in Ocho Rios? Is just a taxi OK?

We would like to tour at our own pace. We want to visit Blue Hole and White River, with a lunch fit in somewhere, and then perhaps be dropped at a beach.

We're the only ship in Ocho Rios, none in Falmouth, and 1 ship in Montego Bay.

So, do I need to book with one of the Tour companies? Or can we just work a deal with a taxi driver? Or better yet, can we just take taxis point to point?

I guess I would be most worried about taxi availability at Blue Hole...(Would someone there call us a taxi?)

Thanks for any help or suggestions

If it were me, personally, I'd book a tour. They are private. It would just be your group.

I don't think you'll get a taxi back from Blue Hole, unless you'd pre-arrange it with whoever takes you out.

The tour companies are very reasonable, IMO. +/- $50-60pp for 2 locations.
