Caribbean Princess Questions

Can anyone help with a couple of questions.

 

1. Do they still have Horse racing? I was on the Island Princess in April and our CC group bought a horse but I have heard it is no longer being offered.

 

2. Is there a bar that sells liquor to take back to your room. I know Princess will not let you buy a bottle in the ships shop to take back to the room but on the Island you could go to one of two designated bars and they would sell you one. The price for a bottle of J&B Scotch was about $17.00, not to bad. It was a little cheaper then ordering through room service.

1. Yes, there is still horse racing...At least as of February 2005

 

2. We purchased a bottle of liqueur to have in our room through room service. It appeared on our bill the last day. I'm certain you can order the same way..

From what I have read, it seems that horse racing onboard has been stopped, at least temporairly, not sure why. :(

You can purchase bottled liquor at the Lobby Bar -- Plaza deck to enjoy in your room. Prices aren't bad (Absolut $22) and selection is decent.

We had horse racing on the Island Princess in April but I think Toto2kansas is right and it is now gone. Bbomermom, thanks I will head to the lobby bar. Toto2kansas where in Kansas are you from? I am in Roeland Park.
