Celebrity Reflection teen program

Hi everyone,

We are going on the Celebrity Reflection with our 13 year old daughter on March 22, and have a few questions about the teen program.

1) Will there still be lots of kids on the ship the week after March break? I would imagine that RCI or NCL would be busier with kids but you never know!

2) Are the programs different from other Solstice class ships because Reflection is "newer"?

3) Is there "quiet time" for the older kids? When we were on Eclipse a few years ago there was always quiet time for the younger kids after lunch (1-2?) when she really wanted to go to the kids club. Is this still the case?

Any feedback/ responses would be greatly appreciated! :)

The Youth program will be the same as on other Solstice vessels. There are planned events throughout the day. On port days, if you leave you kids in the youth program there is a fee from 12-2 ($12 per child), which is lunch and free play. On Sea Days there are no planned activities between 12-2- this is the time that parents are requested to pick their child up for lunch. The Fun Factory remains open during this period but it is unstructured. You can come any time between 12 and 2 to pick the child up for lunch. This is because they do not do the lunch party on sea days and there will be no food provided to the kids in the Fun Factory.

They do have movie time usually for the younger kids- to get them to relax a bit.

The teen program is far less formal than Fun Factory. Many of the organized activities take place in the evening. The teen club area is generally open for "drop in" at most times, but the teens tend to have their own actvities planned.

There are usually a good number of kids on at any given time, but it will vary. We've found regardless of the number of kids, the level of activity in the teen club will vary greatly -- a good counselor, who can keep things going without being seen as interferring vs a "bad" counselor will make a difference. Whether they allow Under 12YOs in the club is another harbenger -- nothing kills the teen club like a couple of 11YOs :D. The personalities of the kids will make a bid difference. You've got to plan your DD for the different possibilities.

Set up some good ground rules that will work for you and your DD. When our DD was that age, we generally went on a "tour" of the ship to show her where she COULD go with her friends. We made certain to meet her friends (and their parents). She had to stay with a group three or more. And she had to check in regularly.
