All Inclusive - is it worth it?

Recommended Posts

We booked a 7 night cruise on the Majesty some time go and got a free AI Drinks package the cruise was £499 pp with an upgrade to an outside plus cabin which I was reasonably happy with bearing in mind the FREE drinks package

The price of the cruise has dropped considerable but the drinks package is now £199 pp but you don’t seem to be able to buy it individually so for 2 its £398 .

With that in mind, the passenger who books today and buys the drinks package will pay almost exactly the same as me for the Cruise and I got a FREE drinks package!!!!!!!!

Next time I’m going to book late and not take the drinks package.

We Have always had AI but after our last cruise in Sept we roughly checked what we had drank and worked out we would have been about £100 out of pocket. We drink what we want glass of wine lunch time coffee in the day Bar drinks at nite time drinks with dinner

I'm with you on this one. I am sure my wife and I would not spend £398 on drinks on a 7 night cruise.

I believe Thomsons are now offering a drinks package at £10 pppn on numerous cruises - or £140 per couple for 7 nights.

That begs the obvious question - why £398 as outlined above.

We are looking at the 7 day Norway cruise in early July and the £398 applies - no way.

Me and my OH always have AI. Its not just alcoholic drinks. It includes virgin cocktails too, and 'nice' coffees.

When you go AI, you always get a bar reeipt for zero. Once we saved them up, and at the end of the week (It was only a 7 day cruise), we had spent £500+, and we are not alchis! I forget how much the AI was, but it was nowhere near that much!
