cjc3008 Posted March 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2014 Can anyone confirm that on westbound transatlantic it is better to have a port side ocean view for the sunny days? Thankyou
Rare Essiesmom Posted March 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Side of the ship is only important if you are planning on sitting and getting sun on your balcony. When in an OV, you really don't spend much time sitting and looking out the window. Depending on the ship/cabin, you might not be able to sit by the window. Keen Cruisers Posted March 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2014 We sailed the Atlantic, Copenhagen to New York City in October and having not taken into account which side was the sunny side ( we come from the southern hemisphere so got it back to front!!!)when we booked a balcony cabin we were grateful we had the shade as the weather was unbelievably hot (38 degrees) and we could sit outside and not roast. travelbug11 Posted April 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2014 I came from Barcelona to Ft. Lauderdale in November and had the shady side - Starboard side of the ship.
travbug Posted February 17, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Travelbug11, was the balcony on the shady side of the ship comfortable enough that you could sit out anytime of the day? I'm concerned that it might be windy and cool/cold. Also, did it get any sun at all? Thanks
