slh2412 Posted July 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2005 Has anyone gone to the "Tea at Jewel Gardens"? If so what did you think? I absolutley love beautiful gardens and tea just happens to put the icing on the cake. However, if it's not spectacular, I would rather spend my time more wisely while in Skagway. SourDoughSteve Posted July 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2005 Personally I think you could spend your time much more wisely in Skagway. There are so many options and so much history to absorb I find myself constantly on the go in this area. The Parks department is working constantly to renovate the old buildings in town. The White Pass RR is constantly adding new itineraries. Rave reviews are coming back from the 4 x 4 back country excursions not to mention the glacier flightseeing and in the fall the journey to Haines to see the Eagles. Remember Eagles arrive when the salmon begin their journey upstream which in this area is around the beginning of August. I can't imagine sitting still in Skagway unless it's for the fried halibut sandwich at the Sweet Tooth Cafe. (This sandwich is big enough to carry-out half for later in the day i.e. the train). Whatever you decide it will be wonderful.
