Opinions, please.

We have 2 grandparents(58, we're not so old,) our thirties daughter and son-in-law, 2 grandsons (11 and 10) and 2 granddaughters( 7 and 6.)

Excluding Atlantis, is there any particular excursion you would recommend?

We would prefer to use Carnival's because we have a $100 on board credit that can only be used for excursions.

Thanks in advance, cruising friends.

We did the Ardastra Gardens/Zoo tour. The zoo is small but cute and the staff takes a lot of pride in it. There's a flamingo show that would probably appeal to the littlest, but the older grand kids not so much. We have a Balmoral Island beach excursion booked for next time. Reviews are mixed so far, but it sounds like a nice beach day and worth a try.

We went on the Semi-sub, and have a hard time recommending it. There was very little to see, and the crew was bored out of their gourds. They throw bread over the side to attract fish. The fish can pretty much only be seen on that side. Several of us asked them to throw some bread on our side but they acted like they didn't even hear us.

The moderators will likely move this to the Bahamas port of call threads. You may be able to get referrals for good cab drivers giving tours. You can get tours from taxis at the dock, but it's hit and miss. Some folks have great drivers. Ours was personable and friendly, but gave the worst tour I've ever had. We zoomed around the island at highway speed, with the driver breathlessly pointing out shopping centers. Then we stopped at a Starbucks where he insisted we stay in the car while he dropped off something in a paper bag to a friend waiting behind the Starbucks  Don't want to know what was in the bag...... One of the stops was Atlantis. We paid our fare and stayed there.
