Last Minute Disney Price Drops?

Has anyone had any experience waiting until 36-48 hours before a cruise to book? I want to surprise my mom with a spring break trip if the price drops on the disney fantasy. We could book up to the thursday before - so no need to plan ahead. It would just be waiting for the price to drop. I know that is a sell out week. But I thought it was worth asking!

It would be the April 12th date.

DCL doesn't do "fire sales" at the last minute the way other lines do. You can book at least up to a day ahead (I've read of people booking day of the cruise, but NOT at the terminal--must be done on the phone to DCL at that point). You can book on line up to 3 days ahead.

If there is a price drop, you'll typically see it somewhere between 30 and 74 days in advance although occasionally the deals come out sooner. If you see one, grab it....there are limited cabins available at the "deal" prices and once they are gone.....
