We have one full day in FLL pre-cruise. We'd like to see some Everglades and wildlife and do a short airboat ride. We are also hoping to go to Flamingo Gardens. Where would you suggest we go for the airboat that's not too far? Sawgrass recreation park? Everglades Holiday park? Or somewhere else? Thanks!

I recommend Everglades Holiday Park. There is a Travelzoo deal for this for $13 per person, which is half off regular price:

I have not yet been to Flamingo Gardens, but have been wanting to go check it out.

We were looking to take an Airboat ride and this just saved us $50!

...for some interesting people watching post-airboat, go across the street from the park entrance on US27 to Cafe 27 ... It's pretty much a biker bar/truck stop, but it's an interesting place to have a beer and bar snacks. There is usually live music on the weekends.

I had a good experience with Everglades Safari Park (although as a post-debarkation excursion through Carnival). It's $23 per adult, $12 per child, and there's a $3 off coupon avialable on their site: http://www.evergladessafaripark.com/. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere; all you'll find nearby are marshes, farms, and canals. Dedicate three to four hours for the park, plus driving time. The admission price includes a 30-minute airboat ride, a presentation with alligators, a reptile zoo, and a nature walk. Airboat tours run every half hour when the park is open. There's also a concession stand where you can buy fried alligator. Them's good eatin' :D.
