BEACHBARB Posted April 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Does anyone know if St. Kitts celebrates Carnival/Fat Tuesday in a big way? We are looking at a cruise that would be stopping there on 2/17/15 and we once stopped in Aruba on Fat Tuesday and had a cab drop us off at a beach (not where we asked to be dropped off) telling us we wouldn't be able to get a cab back due to Carnival - and he was right. We were at time shares so no chair/umbrella rental and we had to walk back to ship. Came to be known as the Aruba Death March. Not fun in flip flops but we all made it. We stopped in Dominica on Tuesday, March 4th this year. There were still plenty of taxis lined up for tourists and all the ship tours seemed to be running as normal. That being said, we had planned to snorkel at Champagne reef but as the parades and partying in the streets was already in motion at 9h30 AM we decided not to go. The crazy costumes, parades went on all day. We spent the morning watching the parades and celebration and then got back on the ship had lunch and went off again for the afternoon. A once in a life time experience.
NorthCarolinaBelle Posted September 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Sounds like fun! We'll be there this year for Fat Tuesday/Carnivale. Really looking forward to it!
