Theatre Shows on RCCL?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,
1st cruise coming up on Adventure, and I can't find any info on the shows. Can anyone enlighten me on what shows they've seen recently on RCCL ships, and if they are productions worthy of the West End or cut down in size or quality?
Also what time do they start to plan dinner around, and do you book them in advance or just queue for entry?

Thanks!

Adventure does not have advance booking for shows, just first come, first served. The shows are timed to be convenient for the two traditional dining times.

Not sure what West End production shows are- but if you mean full musicals, only the Liberty (Saturday Night Fever), the Oasis (Hairspray), and the Allure (Chicago) have full musical productions. All of them are edited to fit into a specific time window.

The other shows one can call them variety-ish- using musical and dance numbers. All of them will offer shows that fit within the main and late dinner seatings.

Anymore, the only show that requires some kind of ticket is the ice show- which IS on the Adventure. But you can get those on board, too- and the times are also during the day.

West End refers to the West End Theater District of London, similar to the US' Broadway. As mentioned, only Oasis, Allure, and Liberty offer true Broadway style shows while the others feature RCI singers and dancers performing highlights from a number of theatrical productions and have such titles as "West End to Broadway" or "Piano Man" etc. The quality of those productions can vary according to the talents of the individual performers but they usually offer a good night's entertainment and a change of pace from the comics, illusionists, jugglers and musicians that perform on the other evenings.:)

I couldn't find any recent cruise compasses for the Adventure, but it appears in 2012 one of the main production shows was "Jackpot".

On a 7 day cruise the production shows would be around the 3rd day.

In general the shows int eh main theatre on Adventure are musicals featuring 4 singers and about 12 dancers. Lots of costume and sets changing for each number. They try to cover a wide range of ages, but I would say most of it caters toward and older audience. I appreciate the effort it takes to put these shows on, but a younger audience may not.

The other production show was on Day 6: "invitation to dance". This is produced by Louis Van Anstel from "dancing with the stars" with Guest dancers. Great if you appreciate professional dancing.

The other shows are special guests ranging from Comedy, Magic, juggling, Singing groups + Soloists , acrobats.

1st night is just a quick introduction to the singers, dancers and maybe the comedian, the farewell show -day7- may have a special guest (along with the top crew members).

The ice show is amazing IMO - get tickets and show up early to get a good seat - don't miss.
