Howard Johnson hotel on collins ave.. miami

I was just wondering if anyone has ever stayed at the Howard Johnson hotel on collins ave? We our sailing out of the Port of Miami . It looks to be a little out of the way for a pre night stay. Need to know how far the hotel is from the port and about how much it would cost for taxi to hotel from airport and from hotel to ship.

That's not a little way out of the way, it's a lot out of the way! ;) If you're going to stay up there it would be far cheaper to rent a car than take taxis. It's about a 30 minute drive to the Port of Miami. There are also no restaurants or shops within walking distance so unless you wanted to eat in the hotel you'd need taxis for that as well.

You are a life saver Trent.... think I will book with the Holiday Inn Port. lol

The wife of the couple we are sailing with.. refuses to change her reservation...lol guess we will just have to have a few drink ..on board of course... and wait for them.
