Parking near Quebec ship dock

We'll be on the Constellation arriving on 29 Sept and leaving the evening of the 30th. We're think of renting a car. Is there a safe place to park a rental car overnight near the pier? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Where can one rent a car in Quebec? Are the car rentals near the pier?

We just got back from our cruise to Quebec. There was an Avis representative there when we docked but we rented from Hertz which is about a 5 minute cab ride from the ship. Though we heard that Hertz would reimburse the cab fare we forget to ask about it. Parking the car overnight near the ship was a breeze. It was not an inexpensive venture, though it was well worth it since we shared the price with another couple. We enjoyed the car for trips outside the city, epsecially to St Anne's canyon which has beautiful waterfalls, much prettier than Montmorency and not at all crowded.
