why does my boarding pass......

so im a red VIFP - next 5 day sailing will take me to gold....

 

I purchased FTTF - my boarding pass says GOLD....is that bc of FTTF

 

Im confused dont i need to sail before moving up?

Perhaps if you will turn gold on this sailing, they have classified you as such. I'm not totally sure but this could be a possibility.

This is correct. For example, if you have 21 days of sailing, and are booked on a 7 day cruise, you start that cruise as gold. Because during that cruise you will meet the 25 day level for Gold status.

your luggage tags will have F2F on it and you will have a sticker on the back of your S&S card that says FTTF.

We put our luggage tags on all the luggage so we didn't see what color our son had, but when we got our S&S cards we were surprised that his was gold. We thought he was red, but since he was reaching gold status during that cruise, he got it from the beginning. So, expect a gold card too!

Interesting. We are not paid in full yet and DH is still showing red. But he has 21 days and should be turning gold this cruise. I will be watching to see if it changes after payment.

If you obtain your next level on your cruise, you'll be upgraded to the next status/level on the cruise. We were before embarking on one of our cruises, and would hit the Gold number of days during the middle of the cruise. We were given the Gold card upon checking in at the pier, and had all the amenities for that level while we were cruising. Enjoy your new level and your cruise.
