Problems downloading Charlottetown, Quebec City,Saint John and other Toms Port Guides

Recommended Posts

Apparently some people have had problems downloading the Toms port guides myself and other posters have posted in different threads. Tom’s guides are very LARGE pdf files and you need a good fast internet service to do so. Here is what he suggests on his web site might be the problem:

Download speed is slow due to an "internet traffic jam" because all your neighbors are on line.

History files have accumulated on your computer that need to be erased.

The security settings for internet connection and/or your firewall software are set to "high" rather than normal.Setting my firewall to "high or agressive" security protection dramatically slows the file download speed.

You have moved the mouse or tried to view the file on your screen before it has fully downloaded. This screws up the file and generates error messages about the file.”

Here is Tom’s web page which gives more detail on that and you will also find a list of all his guides:

Hope this helps
