MSMcDuffy Posted July 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Hello, Can anyone recommend a very scenic, mild to moderate hike in Skagway with a private tour company? I don't mind a moderate level (hills) but would prefer not to be hiking up steep, loose rocks. I'm also open to a train or boat ride to get there as well as canoeing or kayaking as part of the adventure. I'll be doing this excursion solo in this port so I want to be with a group and I don't care what size of a group. Thank you! :)
MSMcDuffy Posted July 13, 2014 Author #2 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Please disregard....just saw the notice that I'm not supposed to use the word "recommendation" if I'm asking a question. Can a moderator delete this thread???
frugaltravel Posted July 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Actually you CAN ask for a recommendation. It is just that someone can't start a new thread recommending some tour operator without being prompted by a question about it!
teachatthebeach Posted July 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 14, 2014 I am planning my Alaska excursions as well. I found the Skagway Float Tours company and am considering booking the Hike and Float option. Here's the link to the website: http://skagwayfloat.com/ Hope this information helps! MSMcDuffy Posted July 15, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted July 15, 2014 I am planning my Alaska excursions as well. I found the Skagway Float Tours company and am considering booking the Hike and Float option. Here's the link to the website: http://skagwayfloat.com/ Hope this information helps! I was going to book this tour but the 2 morning tours are sold out and the afternoon tours won't work because our ship leaves at 4pm. The same tour is offered on our ship's shore excursions so I'll probably go that route. I prefer independent co's but since I already have 3 other indep. tours planned in other ports, this will be just fine. Hope you enjoy this excursion if you go. :)
