Love your reviews and pictures. When we were in Grand Turk a couple of years ago we rented a golf cart from a Mr. Smith (had to walk outside the gate as it was not Carnival affiliated) for the day. I believe it was $20.00 per person. He gave us a map of the roads - Grand Turk is such a small island and limited traffic. It was one of the best and most fun excursions we have ever done. We were able to see the whole island, stop, eat, shop and beachtime.

 

Thank You so much. So happy that you are enjoying it. Yeah I know who you are talking about....Nathan Smith. He rents the golf carts in Grand Turk. I am sure that would be a lot of fun. I have a had time going too far from the pool at Margaritaville though....it's like it starts calling my name when we walk by :)

OK now back to review. Our last port of call was in Freeport, Bahamas. It's definitely not my favorite port but hey it's better than being at home :p

OOOO you had me at Open Bar :p You really have an open bar for the day....my group would love that. Thanks for the tip. When we all cruise together on the Dream in December I am going to bring up renting the Grand Villa.

Brianna...we've had the grand oasis three times...twice with Carnival and once with Hal... those days are up there with the best days we've ever spent on a cruise...you also have stairs going into the water...a slide...your own hot tub...and lots and lots of great food...and the open bar...It is truly a special day. You can also talk to the massage staff and they will send over a lady or two to do massages..there is a special area for that...we just guaranteed them an hour I think...and we all split it up into 10-15 minute increments...that was also amazing. I would go for it!!

Now we got off the ship around 10:30 am and there were still a lot of businesses in the cruise center area that were closed. That was disappointing....you would think that if the ship is only docked there for a short time (7:00 am to 1:30 pm) that they would be open for business but that wasn't the case.

 

 

The cruise ships really do look enormous in size compared to the buildings

Thank You so much. After reading more into the Grand Oasis that sounds like the perfect spot to be. And if you have 18-20 people or so it would be a great deal. I love the idea of the open bar and the personal chef. I'm not a fan of the Island BBQ. That beach and water is too good to enjoy.

It is so nice to not have to leave the oasis to eat..and imho the food was much better than the BBQ...they will come up to you and ask what they can cook for you...I could share pics with you but don't know how to do it on CC...are you on another social media site?

Well Senor Frogs was a big disappointment. We went into the shop and they didn't have any shirts bigger than a size Large. My dad always gets a t-shirt from Senor Frogs on all of our cruises but I guess it just wasn't to be this trip. The other issue was that it was now almost 11:00 am and the bar wasn't open yet....WHAT :eek: The ship only had 2 more ours in port and the bar was still closed. Oh well so we decided to go down to Fat Tuesdays which was so much better anyway

Fat Tuesdays is rather new to Freeport so we decided to stop in and have a drink...or two :p

My new friend, Raquel, from Fat Tuesdays. She was awesome. I ordered a Blue Raspberry daiquiri and when we got ready to leave she filled up my cup again for no charge....gotta love that :p

Well after a couple drinks......my dad and I decided to start making our way back to the ship because it was getting very hot out. My mom wanted to stay out a little longer to do some more shopping in the port area

After watching the weather for awhile as we left Freeport....Mom and I decided to head down to the Casino. I had a bunch of quarters to use so that I didn't have to carry them off the ship. I knew just the game to play

 

This game was nothing but a tease :p

 

As we were passing through the Atrium we saw our new friends so we stopped to chat for a bit.

It was now almost 5:00 pm which meant that it was time for Sports Trivia in the Perfect Game Sports Bar.....

 

I came out on top today. I got 18 out of 20 correct. Yay me

It was time to get ready for dinner....the second formal night of the cruise

I think its safe to say that we got here pretty early ;)

 

 

Anyone who has seen the show "Vroom" on a Carnival Ship will know who this guy is???? Any guesses???

We watched the show which was very good. My mom headed back to the cabin so Dad and I headed up Lido to take some pics and maybe grab an ice cream cone along the way

Haha....there was an older lady behind us in the theater who asked her husband if that was the captain of the ship....Ummm no I don't think so :D

 

I'm usually not a casino player when I cruise with just my dad but my mom forced me ;) That's what it would do too...drop 4 or 5 quarters when I was on my last one. I played for a good 45 minutes on $10.00 so I'd say that was pretty good
