Hi,

I don't know specifically about these two tours, but the "Shopping Shuttle" probably goes to the Ron Jon Surf Shop area (big surf store, public beach, a couple of funky beach bars). It's possible it goes to "downtown" Cocoa Beach, which is further down and also has a nice public beach and more funky beach bars, a larger variety of good restaurants, and some shops.

If it's the Ron Jon area, try the Sandbar for fish tacos and good burritos, live music...across parking lot from beach itself. A fun place with a surf feel.

If it's Cocoa Beach proper, Coconut's on the Beach is decent food and a party vibe right on the most busy public beach.

The Beach Shack is a very friendly local dive, and has the best live music in Brevard County during the evenings, as well as out on the beach deck during the days on Sunday. It's right on the beach across a side street from Coconuts on the Beach.

Yen Yen has really good Chinese food...I'm not kidding....check Tripadvisor. Owner has/had restaurants in NYC, and has run this place for several years. We are regulars at this place:

The other tour one sounds like it goes to Cocoa Beach and Cocoa Village - a restored older town that is very quaint and nice shopping / eating - over the causeway on the mainland. This is about 10-15 minutes from Cocoa Beach.

As a way of understanding the layout, Cocoa Beach is on the outside barrier island, and Merritt Island is in the middle between that and the mainland. There are two sets of causeways that connect East / West between the mainland to both Port Canaveral (528 causeway / A1A) and Cocoa to Cocoa Beach (520 causeway). The form a box, basically:

Hope this helps,

the bus from the port to Ron Jon /beach was free at one time .... not today

Cocoa Beach and Cocoa are, as mentioned, different entities and miles apart.

Cocoa Village has several nice little eclectic shops ... but think 5 to 8 ... not 10 to 20

local resident sends . . .
