Crete

We found limited information on Crete from the boards. I'm hoping this will help others. It made me sad that people either stayed on the ship or only went shopping in town. This was our favorite Greek Island. Hope this information helps and if I can answer any questions please let me know!

We weren't expecting much and we were surprised how much we enjoyed it. It felt very different/ Independent from other Greek locations. I also liked getting away from the large groups of people and just relaxing as we learned about the land. I hope you have a great time! Karen

We have done this tour twice now…..only the first time they arranged a private tour of an olive press and one of a winery…… but I enjoyed the monastery more and the second visit !

Crete is amazing ! One of our favorite ports. I often encourage others to "get outta town" in this port as the countryside, the people and the sites are top notch !

Thanks for sharing your photos…… made me smile to remember.

Hi - has anyone managed Spinalonga from Agios Nikolius cruise port? Our ship excursion is full so looking for alternative ways of doing it ?
thanks

Look at tours from Elounda and somehow find transportation there. It’s a little closer and much nicer than Agios Nikolaos. You could stop at Agios on your way back since it’s on the route.

Edit:: I assumed you were docking in Heraklion. New plan. Get a taxi to Plaka and the boats leave from there. Agios is nice to walk around when you return.
