t60 Posted September 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Does MSC have any sort of ceremony for crossing the line? If so what's it like? How does it compare with other cruise lines? Sandy in Spain
AmoMondo Posted September 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Yes they do and I can't compare it to other cruise lines as I've no experience of crossing the Equator with another line. You have to register in advance with them onboard if you want to actually participate in the ceremony. It's King Neptune themed and seems yo involve dunking folk in the pool and chucking stuff on them like baked beans or whatever. Certainly not my idea of a lark to take part in. I watched the first one but didnt bother going to the others.
t60 Posted September 9, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted September 9, 2014 Thanks. We've seen a few over the years on various cruise lines, the first few were quite good, but they seem to have become messier and more amateurish in recent times. From your description MSC's seem to be that way as well. Sandy in Spain
Capricruiser Posted September 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2014 We crossed the Equator in March on the Sinfonia. The cruise director and King Neptune orchestrated the ceremony and it was sloppy but fun for all.
