ultimateDragon Posted October 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I have read that if you have the drink package you dont have to sign any slip or anything. Do you just flash your room card/key and they hand you the drinks? How do you tip or is tipping not typical? Sorry new and wanting to make sure I am prepared. Thanks! ariawoman Posted October 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Tips are included in the cost of the beverage package. You can of course tip additional if you so desire. They will often take your card and swipe it. Sometimes they won't but usually they do. You wont need to sign anything unlewss you buy something that isnt included in your package. Sloop-JohnB Posted October 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Beverage Pkg prices includes 15% Grat. If you wish to Extra Tip... You can certainly do so, at the time of purchase / service Or as many do by handing your Favourite Bartender a Thank You at the end of our cruise (last night) Mr Sloop & I always leave Celebrity's Daily Grats in place on our Cruise (price per day per person based on stateroom) and then Extra Tip those Crew who have made our cruise extra special. Extraordinary Service = Extra Tip Hope this helps, Cheers!
cynbar Posted October 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Actually Celebrity adds 15% to the posted price of the beverage packages (or the upgrade to Premium if you get the Classic package as a perk.) But the above posters are correct in that you have paid the basic tip in advance, so no need to leave more unless you get exceptional service. Sometimes there are slips but more often not. However, it's a good idea to check your bill before the final day, occasionally a drink charge is erroneously put through, but Guest Relations will easily remove it if this happens. Pitbull1130 Posted October 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2014 On day one or two we usually find our favorite drink maker and tip something extra then. On day five we tip again then on the last night we give something. We find better drink service throughout the cruise doing it that way............ Officer Dibble Posted October 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Mostly they just swipe your card but not always. It is worth checking your itemised account at regular intervals - via your stateroom TV - just to make sure that there are no incorrect additions. I always get very very good service without tipping extra, I'm not saying people shouldn't tip extra, it's a personal thing.

I have also found that bribing the staff is unnecessary and have always gotten excellent service without doing so. The one question I have for people who tip in advance is "How do you know you are getting better service by doing so?"
