Fitness Center on THE DAWN

Hi all,

 

My wife and I will be on the Dawn sailing from NYC on December 22, and as she's very into working out, I wanted to hear from those who have sailed on the Dawn before, what your feelings are about the gym.

 

What machines do they have? How new is the equipment? Is the center in good shape/clean? You know, the usual stuff.....

I have cruised on the Dawn twice. I thought that the fitness center was fine and well-equiped. It has a number of the same machines as our local Gold's Gym. The fitness center as quite a few treadmills and stationary bikes, along with a few stairmasters. The fitness center also has a free-weight area.

 

I thought that it was very clean and well-maintained. The Dawn also offers an organized excerise program for the duration of the cruise.

We were on the Dawn the week of 9/4/05. Many of the treadmills were out of order. Most of the working treadmills had the safety clip tied to the machine so that it would not function to prevent an accident.
