Should I book Northwest?

I have an E certificate for Northwest that saves us about half off other airlines - we the mechanics on strike should I go ahead and use it or pay the extra and fly another airline. We are flying from Des Moines, Iowa to Fort Lauderdale on January 2, 2006. Des Moines does not have any low cost carriers (Southwest or Air Tran) and regular airfare for 2 is close to $900 with the NW certificate it is around $470 for 2.

I personally wouldn't worry about it. I think you will be fine. BEsides, if they were to file for bankruptcy you probably want to use your certificate before they make it harder to use them..... I have numerous flights booked all the way through June of 2006. United has been in toruble for a long time and they are still flying... good luck, whatever you choose to do!
