Copenhagen Bicycle tour

We just came back from the Jewel August 7 Baltic Cruise. It was wonderful The ship offered a bicycle tour, but I went online and found one on the Copenhagen site. We were escorted throughout the city by a young man named Jon (pronounced Yan) Martin. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the Copenhagen of today as well as historical Denmark. He took us to the major sites and we even went into a few places like the Opera House and the Royal Library. There were only four of us on the tour so it was like a personal excursion.

 

My wife twisted her ankle at the end of the trip and Jon was wonderful. He gave us his own transit pass to make sure that we got onto the ferry to return to the ship. Once he put the bikes away, he said he would come back to the ferry stop to be sure we were aboard. We did get the ferry, so we didn't see Jon again.

The way to contact him is to email him at basictours@citysafari.dk. His tour is much less expensive than the ship's bicycle tour and it's just as long. If you have a large group (I'm not sure how many qualify), he'll customize a tour for you. Other than trying to jump a curb instead of getting off the bike, the tour was easy. Copenhagen is flat although riding over cobblestones was interesting. We highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in bicycling through Copenhagen!!
