beach for a couple hours in Nassau

I'll be in Nassau Tuesday and we are there until 5pm. My plan was to go the straw market, pirate museum, then back to the ship for lunch and change for the beach. I had plans to just go to Junkanoo but now i'm not sure because i'm reading about cable beach. I don't want to pay for a day pass anywhere since I only plan on being on the beach there for an hour or two. Advice? Is there jitneys that come and go often from the cruise port to Junkanoo beach? What about cable beach?

We were cruising Bahamas last week. In Nassau we went swimming in Paradise Island. The water is so clear and the beach is very quiet. It is very close to the ship by taxi. You can rent a chair and also there's jet ski and parasailing rentals. There was no bar in the area where we were(it's over a mile long).
