mein18 Posted January 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Has anyone been successful in connecting to NCL's WiFi with their Android cell phone to access the internet? On our previous cruises on other lines their WiFi login was on a java based site and Android devices by default cannot run Java. As a result we were unable to login. I understand from reading a post on another thread that NCL also runs a Java based system. Not too may years ago it was so much easier to login right on the cell phone to check emails and not have to pull out the laptop each time. Valen9 Posted January 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2015 I didn't have any trouble using my Android phone and tablet with NCL's wifi on Breakaway in September. I was able to pull up data on the iConceirge app. Now, I didn't attempt to access the wider Internet, which may require Java for all I know. Plus, the systems on Breakaway are likely to be different from the older ships; they have a per-megabyte data plan instead of per-minute.
GoAndHaveFun Posted January 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2015 The last couple cruises I have been on, I have been able to use my android to go on the wifi. However, when I was on the Epic recently, at times it would be hard to connect to the wifi. It was like the satellite internet page wouldn't display at all.
