Late or main seating??

We're also cruising on the Fantasy April 2016, and we're trying to decide the same thing. The early seating seems SO early. On Royal Caribbean, we do My Time Dining, so we can just eat at the time we are hungry or based on what we're doing that night. Excited about trying Disney though!

You can do a similar thing on DCL by eating in Cabanas. It is not open the first or last nights. For dinner, it is a sit down restauarant, not a buffet. The seating hours are generally 6-8 but verify in the Navigator. You don't have to be DONE by 8, just seated by then.

We found Cabanas table seating to be quie good. We arrived at almost 8pm and had most excellent service, with very few others joining in. The only thing missing is your usual servers. Oh, and the service was much faster than in the main dining room. Instead of what was often 2 hours, we were done in less than an hour. I'm actually surprised this has not caught on more.

We did it when we came back from an excursion in the Med tired and hungry. We didn't want to wait for late dinner. The food and service were both excellent and we had a lovely view of the sunset. Food is much better than in the MDR because it is made fresh for you, not in bulk. And you are right--service is faster as well.
