tradogna Posted April 26, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2004 I am thinkig of buying a rollator, can anyone tell me if the three wheel ones are ok, or should I get a 4 wheel one. The 3 wheel looks like it would be easier to carry on bus cabs etc. I have a scooter that I use part time. Thanks. Teresa
cjh Posted April 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Get the one with the built in seat so when you are tired you can sit. Star Princess 7/03(Alaska)
MLShealy Posted May 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2004 HI-I am a nurse practitioner, gerontology, and have purchased rollators for family and clients. How many feet can you ambulate before you experience fatigue? If less than 20 feet purchase the lightest weight rollator with seat and hand brakes. Do not purchase a three wheeler, as they are collapsable and not sturdy on curbs, inclines or going downhill particularly if you have concerns with balance. Consult a physical therapist or MD to get a medical order which may cover some of your costs. You can get great deals on line for sales on specific items which can be drop shipped to your door.
