Hi there,

We are going on a northern lights cruise on 17/03/2015, wondering if anyone has any idea if there are any private tour company's to view the lights in Alta, Norway.

Thanks in advance

We went last year and booked with P&O excursion "In search of Northern Lights" was expensive but really well organised and fantastic experience we were lucky to see Northern Lights but those on second night were not so lucky and didnt see much if anything at all. We never saw anyone at Alta selling independent excursions on the 2 days we were there so I would say no its ether P&O or hope to see them from the ship for free. There is never any guarantees but the company P&O use monitor weather conditions and were the best place to take you to have a chance of seeing them because the darker it is away from light pollution the better the chance.

Thank you both for your reply's. I think we will just go for the P&O tour. I had searched online and couldn't find any independent tour operators, so thought I would ask on here. Do either of you have you any tips for day time tours.

Thanks once again
